One-Of-A-Kind Japanese Yew

Probably a key feature of the Yew is its peeling bark, making the tree look old, a quality highly appreciated for Bonsai trees. As you can see in the pictures, styling has started on this bonsai. It's been a while since we've see a Japanese Yew. This was a great find.

Most common species are the Baccata and the Cuspidata. The taxus is a slow grower, with a slim and elegantly shaped trunk. The fruits and its leaves are poisonous to pets.

Specific Bonsai care guidelines for the Yew (Taxus) - Position: One of the very few trees that prefer shade, make sure not to place it in full sun. - Watering: Water frequently but make sure the soil is not wet for an extended period of Time.
