Japanese Cast Metal Koi Fish Sculpture – Kyoto Antique Find
This beautiful koi fish sculpture was discovered in a small antique shop in Kyoto and carries the warmth and charm of a well-aged piece. The material is a cast metal, possibly bronze or a similar alloy, but due to its lighter weight, we’re not stating this with absolute certainty. It has the look, texture, and coloration of bronze patina work, yet the exact metal composition is unknown.
The coloration is particularly striking, with layered gold, orange, and reddish tones that highlight the scales and fins. The surface shows natural patina and age-related character, giving it the appearance of a cherished decorative object with history behind it.
