Deciduous Wiring Techniques (Sunday, April 3, 2022)
Wiring is one of the essential skills in bonsai— It allows us to bend branches and add movement to our trees to train them towards a desired shape. It’s a technique that we all strive to master, and what better way to take a step on that journey than to learn from Pete Olson, a New England Bonsai Gardens instructor and Bonsai professional.
Pete will begin class with a lecture and demonstration on the various wiring techniques that you need to know for deciduous trees. Students will then get a chance to practice those techniques on cut branches to refine their skills. After students have had ample time to practice, they will have a chance to use their learned techniques on their own bonsai trees under Pete's guidance.
Attendee Cost: $65 per student
Duration: 10 AM – 1 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early.

- Bonsai tools, soil, and wire to support the class

Bonsai Tree: Specimens are available for purchase in our greenhouses if you do not already have bonsai for this workshop

Copper wire: We will not include copper wire in this workshop, but students can bring their own if they want to wire their conifers with copper.

All workshops are led by one of our bonsai experts. We provide some of the happiest and healthiest bonsai trees, and we love to share our knowledge!
Attendee Cost: $65 per student + the cost of your chosen bonsai and pot. Tools, soil, and other instruments will be available for you to use.
Duration: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. If you arrive a few minutes early, you'll have more time to enjoy the nursery!

Unless otherwise specified, all students should meet in the greenhouse labeled “Workshop.” It’s right behind our retail store – you can’t miss it.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
