Rare Shohin Oval by Roy Minarai (One-of-One)
I purchased this pot directly from Roy Minarai back in January 2021, during one of those rare moments when he released a small batch online. If you’ve ever tried to get one of Roy’s pieces, you know those opportunities don’t last long. I picked up several that day, and this is one of the few I’m finally letting go.
This pot is a quiet standout. The glaze has depth and subtle movement, the shape feels rooted in classical Japanese form, and the surface texture has that unmistakable “Roy fingerprint”. Refined but never overworked. It’s the kind of piece collectors display even without a tree in it. It holds presence on its own.
Roy doesn’t produce in volume, and when he does make new work, pieces are not repeated. There is no “next batch that looks like this.” Once a Roy pot leaves your hands, it’s rarely seen again.
If you’ve been waiting to add a Minarai to your collection, this is one worth claiming.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.

** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
