Japanese Black Pine Pre-Bonsai – Wired & Styled Starter Tree (Mark Comstock Stock)
This Japanese Black Pine (Pinus thunbergii) is part of our limited batch of 4–5 year old trees grown by pine specialist Mark Comstock, then professionally wired and styled to jumpstart your bonsai journey.
Instead of raw material, this tree already has movement, branch structure, and direction — saving you years of early development work. Mark’s pines are known for their incredible root systems thanks to his double-cut taproot process, producing strong, radial nebari with the potential for powerful bases and future refinement.
This tree has been styled using copper wire and raffia to create dramatic movement and taper, giving you a head start toward a future show-quality shohin or chuhin black pine.
You are purchasing the styled pre-bonsai. the exact one in the picture.
