35+ Year Old Japanese Black Pine – Compact Power, Gerald Rainville Grown
This Japanese Black Pine proves that size isn’t everything—power can come in a compact form.
Carefully cultivated from seed for over 35 years by bonsai grower Gerald Rainville, this tree has rugged bark, a strong taper, and plenty of character packed into a smaller frame. Its branch structure offers multiple styling options, while its upright posture and healthy foliage show the decades of attention behind it.
Already potted in an elegant unglazed bonsai container, this pine is ready to continue its journey with a collector who appreciates strength in a refined package.
We purchased every one of Gerald’s mature Shohin-Size JBPs on our recent trip north, making this a limited, one-time opportunity. Once they’re sold, there are no more.
If you’ve been looking for a tree with age, pedigree, and compact power, this one deserves a closer look.
