Kingsville Boxwood Bonsai Tree
It's a real Kingsville. We say “real” because many dwarf boxwoods are often mistaken for Kingsvilles. While similar in appearance, true Kingsvilles are a rare find—grown by dedicated old-school cultivators who maintain this highly desirable lineage. This tree comes directly from one of those growers, and we were fortunate to secure nearly forty during our last visit. A few will be potted into ceramics, but we’re releasing a handful as pre-bonsai. This is one of them.

The Kingsville Boxwood (Buxus microphylla 'Compacta') is a highly prized evergreen species cherished for its tiny, glossy green leaves and fine-textured foliage. It’s slow-growing and naturally compact, making it one of the most refined and elegant small-leafed bonsai available today.
This species thrives in bright light with well-draining soil. Water consistently but avoid overwatering. Fertilize during the growing season to maintain vigor, and prune lightly to preserve shape and density. With time and care, it develops a dense canopy perfect for formal upright, informal upright, or slanting styles. It can even be trained into cascade or semi-cascade forms when paired with a shallow bonsai pot.
We love Kingsvilles for their elegant refinement and quiet strength—and collectors love them because they’re increasingly hard to find. This is your chance to own a true Kingsville Boxwood, not a substitute.
