Imported Japanese White Pine Bonsai – Hand Selected in Japan (2023)
This exceptional Pinus parviflora was personally selected in Japan in late 2023 and imported to our Massachusetts nursery in February 2024. It stands 17” tall with a 21” spread, planted in a 16.5” unglazed ceramic pot.
Also known as the Five-Needle Pine, this Japanese White Pine has been expertly crafted on Japanese Black Pine understock—a traditional technique that enhances strength and vigor while preserving the refined blue-green needles characteristic of the species.
Each branch displays years of careful training—dense foliage pads, mature bark, and natural movement that give the tree a sense of age and harmony. The tree has been freshly wired, groomed, and top-dressed in our premium bonsai soil blend, so it’s ready for further refinement or display.

About Japanese White Pine
The Japanese White Pine is one of the most revered species in bonsai. Its graceful, twisting branches and delicate clusters of five blue-green needles symbolize strength, longevity, and peace. This species responds beautifully to styling and can be trained into upright, informal, or semi-cascade forms. Over decades, it develops a mature bark texture that enhances its aged and natural appearance.
