Ready to dive into bonsai? This immersive, small-group workshop introduces you to three classic tropical species: Dwarf Jade, Tiger Bark Ficus, and Hawaiian Umbrella Tree. Whether you’re brand new or looking to expand your indoor collection, this experience is designed to teach essential skills while building confidence and creativity.
What You Will Do:
- Repot a Dwarf Jade Bonsai
- Learn proper soil composition, root pruning techniques, and how to position and secure your tree for long-term health and beauty.
- Style a Tiger Bark Ficus Bonsai
- Work hands-on with tools and wire as we walk you through basic design principles, branch selection, and how to develop structure and taper over time.
- Take Home a Hawaiian Umbrella Bonsai
- Receive a pre-bonsai tree and everything you need to continue the work at home — including a care sheet, pot, soil, and styling wire — so you can practice your new skills with confidence.

- 3 bonsai pots (one for each tree)

Workshop Details:
- Cost: $150 per student
- Duration: July 12th from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM (Arrive early to explore the nursery!)
- Class Size: Limited to 8 students for a more personal experience.
- Location: 914 S. Main Street, Bellingham, MA, 02019 (Workshops take place in the greenhouse behind our retail store.)

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
