One-Of-A-Kind Gerald Rainville Grown Kishu Shimpaku
Due to USDA regulations, we cannot ship Junipers to California.
This Gerald Rainville grown Kishu Shimpaku is a commanding tree with a broad, upright trunk that twists with age and displays natural deadwood. The live vein contrasts beautifully against the weathered wood, giving the composition depth and maturity rarely seen in available pre-bonsai.
Styled for the first time by John Romano on August 11, 2025, the tree now has a strong foundation with well-placed branching that emphasizes both its height and natural taper. Its compact Kishu foliage pads already define sections of the canopy, creating balance between ruggedness and refinement.
At 35+ years old, this tree reflects the patience and artistry that Gerald Rainville was known for. Its dimensions—18” tall with a 19” spread in a 9.5” mica training pot—give it presence without overwhelming scale, making it a centerpiece candidate for a serious enthusiast.
This tree is part of a limited release. Pictures were taken to capture its “before” & current stage; once sold or pulled for further refinement, it will no longer be available.
