One-Of-A-Kind Gerald Rainville Grown Kishu Shimpaku

Due to USDA regulations, we cannot ship Junipers to California.

This Gerald Rainville grown Kishu Shimpaku is defined by its powerful twisting trunk and richly textured bark, showcasing decades of patient growth. The natural curve of the trunk pulls the eye upward with elegance, while the compact Kishu foliage already lends itself to refined pad development.

Styled for the first time by Peter Olson on August 22, 2025, this tree now has an initial structure that highlights its natural movement and strength. The pale live vein contrasts beautifully with the bark’s maturity, creating a striking foundation for future refinement.

At 35+ years old, this pre-bonsai carries the unmistakable qualities of Rainville’s legacy: movement, strength, and quiet dignity. Its dimensions—18” tall with a 14” spread in a 9.5” mica training pot—give it a strong presence, while still allowing room for styling choices that will define its next chapter.

This tree is part of a limited release. Before & After Pictures below.
