35+ Year Japanese Black Pine in One-of-a-Kind Bruce Lenore Wood-Fired Pot
Every tree has a story, but this one has a legend.
This Japanese Black Pine (Pinus thunbergii), seed-grown and developed for more than three decades, was briefly stolen from our nursery in 2024, and then, remarkably, returned (Security Cameras). The tree came back untouched, healthy, and with the same quiet strength it had before. Some trees carry history in their bark. This one carries mythology.
It now sits in a one-of-one Bruce Lenore wood-fired pot. A vessel with depth, smoke-kissed texture, and subtle shifts of ash and flame that only true wood firing can create. The combination is unusually harmonious: rugged old-pine bark meeting hand-built ceramic character. It feels exact, like the tree and pot were always meant for each other.
This is not a beginner bonsai. This is a tree with presence, maturity, and movement earned across years of slow refinement. The silhouette is balanced but bold, with a trunk line that tells the story: shifting, leaning, responding to time.

Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.

All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.

** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit.
