Work directly with Julian Tsai in a private one-on-one bonsai session designed for students who want focused, individualized guidance on their own tree.
This is not a group workshop. This is dedicated time with Julian, where the session is centered entirely around your bonsai, your questions, and your next steps. You’ll bring your own tree and use the two-hour session to get expert help with design, refinement, horticulture, and long-term development.
Ideal for intermediate students, this session is best suited for those who already have some bonsai experience and want deeper guidance on styling decisions, structure, pruning, wiring, and overall tree progression.

About the Instructor
Julian Tsai is a bonsai professional based out of Los Angeles, California. His journey led him to travel to Japan to pursue an apprenticeship at Fujikawa Kouka-en. After returning at the onset of COVID, he continued to refine his skills with two other formally trained professionals, Peter Tea and John Wang. His experience produced a deep and holistic skill set encompassing all stages of development with both deciduous and coniferous varieties. Today, Julian works nationally with his clientele and emphasizes horticulture, technique application, and sustainable development in his work.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
