Rare Mark Comstock Japanese Black Pine Seedling Cuttings
Well, OK... maybe not that rare. What awesome about Mark's Japanese Black Pines is the growing process to achieve arial roots. A lot of growers have tried, but none have succeeded to grow Japanese Black Pines like Mark Does.
We are fortunate to live near Mark and that he sells us 100's (sometimes thousands) of these yearly. This tree is approximately 4 years old. We purchased it from Mark in summer 2022.
He just called and said we're getting 1,000+ more of these, so it's time for this tree to finds it's new forever home.
The Japanese black pine is a native of Japan and is arguably one of the most classic of bonsai. What makes these seedling cuttings unique is their fine radial root base. Because these lateral roots were developed, you will have the ability to grow a pine bonsai with a flared trunk. These flared trunks are highly sought after on pine bonsai.
