Join us for a unique opportunity to work on an exceptional 20+ year old, pot-grown Shimpaku Juniper ('Kishu'), cultivated by the renowned Geral Rainville.
This two-part workshop is designed for experienced bonsai enthusiasts eager to take their skills to the next level.
Workshop Details:
- Instructor: John Romano, a seasoned bonsai expert with decades of experience.
- Cost: $895 per student.
- Class Size: Limited to 7 students for personalized attention.
- Location: 914 S. Main Street, Bellingham, MA 02019 (Meet at the greenhouse labeled "Workshop").
Part 1: Foundations & Design (October 19th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm)
In this first session, you will learn and apply essential bonsai techniques like wiring, carving, and creating Jin/Shari. The focus will be on designing the tree and preparing it for its future journey, including repotting in the spring. Part 1 will also emphasize the fundamental elements of bonsai design, providing you with the tools and skills necessary to create a unique masterpiece.
Part 2: Refinement & Repotting (March 15th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm)
The spring session will build on the foundations laid in Part 1. You will refine your tree's styling, prune it for continued development, and repot it into a beautiful ceramic bonsai pot of your choice from our extensive collection.

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
