About the Instructor

Young Choe, a pioneering kusamono artist, blends her traditional artistry from Korea with horticultural expertise gained from a BS in horticulture at the University of Maryland.

Initially volunteering at the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum, she fused her artistic flair with botanical knowledge, birthing the intricate world of kusamono.

Fueling her passion, Young journeyed to Japan, apprenticing under master kusamono artist Keiko Yamane, a protégé of Saburo Kato.

With extensive experience at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. National Arboretum, she's acclaimed as a foremost figure in her field. Young enriches the bonsai community through nationwide and international workshops and lectures.

About the Workshop & Location:

• Attendee Cost: $185 per student 
• Duration: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. If you arrive a few minutes early, you'll have more time to enjoy the nursery! 
• Limited Class size: 8 students.
• Location: 914 S. Main Street, Bellingham, MA, 02019. Unless otherwise specified, all students should meet in the greenhouse labeled “Workshop.” It’s right behind our retail store – you can’t miss it.
• Refreshments Available: We have refreshments available for sale (Soda, Water, snacks).
• Bathroom: There is a portable washroom at the facility.
