Get ready for summer (or Mother's day) with our Kid's Bonsai Workshop!

Each child will get to select a ceramic pot, plus a pre-bonsai to plant in it.

NEBG believes that children and nature have always been connected, and we are all connected to the natural world. Nature is one of the best learning environments for your child to explore, discover, play, investigate, and enjoy. You will not be disappointed with this Bonsai 101 workshop, and you'll get to go home with an awesome bonsai tree.

All materials are included in this fun hands on 60-90 minute workshop! Just come in your gardening ready clothes ready to have fun! Space is limited so all workshop participants must pre-register.

**Registration is only needed for children, not parents. Recommended for ages 8 & up.** Parents must remaining in attendance for the duration of the workshop.

This is an introductory, hands-on workshop, designed for 1 Parent and 1 Child. It's a condensed workshop for children. 

1. Brief & Fun history and origins of bonsai.
2. Understanding the types of trees suitable for bonsai.
3. The principles of bonsai design and styling.
4. Care and maintenance of bonsai trees, including watering, fertilizing, and pest control.

The instructor will help you select a “pre-bonsai” (a trained plant in a nursery pot), transplant, trim, prune and transform your tree. At the end, you’ll go home with an awesome Bonsai tree and a full understanding of maintenance.

• Experienced Instructor: Amanda Marsocci 
• Instruments: Tools, soil, and all other necessary instruments will be available for you to use.
• Bonsai Tree & Pot. 

About the Workshop & Location:

• Attendee Cost: $85 per student + the cost of your chosen tree and pot.
• Duration: 10:00 pm – 11:30 pm. If you arrive a few minutes early, you'll have more time to enjoy the nursery! 
• Limited Class size: 8 students. (that's 8 kids, and 1 parent to accompany your child)
• Location: 914 S. Main Street, Bellingham, MA, 02019. Unless otherwise specified, all students should meet in the greenhouse labeled “Workshop.” It’s right behind our retail store – you can’t miss it.
• Refreshments Available: We have refreshments available for sale (Soda, Water, snacks).
• Bathroom: There is a portable washroom at the facility, starting March 1st.

** All sales are final. No Refunds will be given on workshops provided by New England Bonsai Gardens.
