Rough Bark Jade Workshop with Glen Lord (Spring Celebration on May 13, 2023)
** This is an all-inclusive workshop with the trees, supplies and tools provided.
Have you always wanted your very own bonsai tree, but don't know where to start? Are you concerned about buying a tree without knowing how to keep it alive and happy?
If so, we have the perfect workshop for you!
For this hands-on workshop, we selected a unique Rough Bark Dwarf Jade (Portulacara afra) as the perfect tree for you to demystify the art of Bonsai!
Upon completing the workshop, you'll walk away with an awesome bonsai tree, but more importantly, you’ll have the confidence to care for it.

Attendee Cost: $75 per student and Includes the Rough Bark Jade
Duration: 9:30 am – 11:30 pm. Please arrive a few minutes early.

- Experienced instructor (NEBG's own Glen Lord)
- Jade Tree
- Bonsai Pot: We have selected Japanese glazed and unglazed shallow oval production pots. However, if you prefer a different pot, you can certainly purchase one.
- Bonsai tools, soil, and aluminum wire to support the class
What's NOT Included with the Workshop:
- Everything you need is INCLUDED
- Regarding the Bonsai pot. If you prefer a handmade, Yixing, or even an Imported Tokoname container, you can purchase one for this workshop

Shipping Bonsai Trees:
Bonsai trees are generally shipped on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid having them stay in the boxes for any extra time over the weekends.
Shipping Non-Tree Items
All non-bonsai items such as bonsai pots and bonsai supplies are shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. Most orders are shipped either the same day or the next day, depending on the time of day the order is received.
Important Guidelines:
** We cannot ship to a FPO, APO, P.O. Box or to locations in Alaska, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii or anywhere internationally.
** All Bonsai are shipped direct from the nursery and may ship separately from other items purchased via the Bonsai Outlet.
** If extreme weather is expected, we may delay shipping your Bonsai tree to guarantee a healthy arrival; in such a case we will contact you. We are shipping living trees and must be conscious of the temperature conditions to the delivery address, as well as, while in transit. That said, we reserve the right to hold the tree(s) to guarantee a healthy delivery. We will Hold Your Tree Until It is Safe to Ship.
