I received my Lucky Bamboos 3 week before my event. Should I assemble and pot them now or wait closer to the event?

We recommend that you unwrap the lucky bamboo plants and keep it in large container or large bucket of water. The plants should stand upright and ensure that water level is around 1 to 2 inch high. A few days prior to the event, you should start to pot the bamboos.

The reason for this is: if you assembly it now and pot it 2 weeks in advance, you will have to water each pot separately now and water it again in 1 week. (It's better to water a large container than to water 100 pots).

How do I assemble lucky bamboo arrangements?

1. Unpack and remove the packing materials.
2. Remove the gel from the lucky bamboo roots and rinse.
3. Put lucky bamboo into a pot or container.
4. Add rocks for support if needed.
5. Add fresh water to top of container.
6. Make sure water level is above 2 inch at all times. Drain and replace with fresh water every 2 weeks.

Why are all the leaves turning brown or yellow?

The lucky bamboo is expose to direct sunlight. The direct sunlight is too strong for the plant and will burn the leaves. If your plant has burn leaves, you can trim the brown section of the leaf with a pair of scissors or carefully pluck the leaf.

Why are the leaves turning yellow?

The two most common reasons for yellow leaves are:

1. Dracaenas can have fluoride problems. Tap water may contain fluoride that are not good for Lucky Bamboo. It can cause brown tip or cause the leaves to turn yellow. Your tap water may have too much fluoride. Try using drinking water.

2. The lucky bamboo may be expose to direct sunlight. If you have the window blinds open or have a ceiling sky light, the bamboo may be expose to sunlight when the sun shift while you are at work or away from your home.

Why are the stalks turning yellow?

The roots of the bamboo or the container is contaminated. Root rotting is common if you do not replace your plant arrangements with fresh water.

If you are using rocks to support the bamboo, remove the rocks. Rinse the container with mild soap and air dry. Insert the plants in the container and add water. Do not add the rocks yet. The rocks may contain chemicals that are affecting the plants. Once you know for certain it is not the rocks, you may add rocks back in to support the plant. Ensure that you rinse the rocks with mild soap before insert it in the container Change the water every 10-14 days

Why does the stem of my bamboo look wrinkled?

The bamboo is not getting enough water. Make sure you keep at least 1 inch of water at all times. If the bamboo is not too stress from the lack of water, it will recover and the wrinkles will disappear. If the leaves turned yellow or brown due to lack or lack, you will have to remove it. Unfortunately, brown leaves will not turn green again.
