Style your own California grown twisty trunk Itoigawa Juniper. (Saturday, September 17, 2022)

We’ve spent the last year getting these specimen Itoigawa Junipers ready for this workshop. They are fantastic trees and they are finally ready to be styled for your collection.

In this workshop you’ll work with Phil Hobkirk to take the first step in transforming these beautiful trees.

Take their wonderful existing form and style the branches & canopy to create a beautiful Shohin Bonsai.

Currently in grow pots, these trees have had a full season to regain their strength and acclimate to bonsai soil.

Phil will work with you on styling your trees that you’ll take home. He will walk you through creating jins and shari as well as wiring and the overall styling of the tree.

We aren’t likely to get Itoigawa Junipers of this caliber for some time so don’t miss your chance.

What to Expect:

In this workshop you will receive one of 10 pot grown specimen Itoigawa Junipers.

In the spirit of fairness, each tree will be assigned a number. When you arrive you will have the opportunity to select a number from a hat (or pot) and that number will indicate which tree you receive.

Not to worry though, all the trees we have made available are terrific!

The quality of the trees combined with Phil Hobkirk's instruction means that you will walk away from this class with a gem of a tree.
