Handmade Yixing Tea Pot
Yixing (pronounced yeeshing) Tea Pots come from the Yixing region of China, located about 120 miles northwest of Shanghai in the Jiangsu province. Yixing teapots have been renowned since the Sung Dynasty (960-1279) when the unique Yisha clay was first discovered in this area. The art of yixing-ware teapots matured and flourished in the Late Ming and Qing Dynasties (1573-1911) when master potters gave each teapot its distinctive finish.
